Where can I begin? The LORD has truly blessed me in allowing me to serve Him here in Ecuador.

I'd like to say a special thank you to my home church, East Side Baptist Church. It's because of a faithful pastor and caring friends and family that I am able to serve the next four months here in Ecuador. I owe much to many special people who attended this church through the years.

Today is Saturday, August 28th. I must say that I'm very thankful and happy at where the Lord has placed me right now. I have a great job/ministry, a wonderful place to live, and good friends surrounding me who are always willing to help me!

Please help me pray that the Lord will use me to sow spiritual seed in the hearts of the people here in Quito, Ecuador. I hope to be able to sow many seeds by evangelism, but I also pray to be able to plant in the water individual seeds. Many people here are open and thirsty for the truth, but I have also found that many are willing to listen but skeptically.

Ask you to pray specifically for a sweet lady named Olgita. She is the maid from next door, but she also cleans our house sometimes. She asked me to pray for her today, and I hope with the Lord's help to be able to reach out to her. She's always very sweet and offering me something to eat or drink, she even cooked rabbit for me today. Please pray for her!

There is much more to tell you about and I hope to write more very soon.

In Christ,

My New\Borrowed Cell-Phone!!!

This was a blessing! I was given this cell phone, by the school in which I am working, to use while I am here. It is a pre-paid cell phone, but will hopefully be a great blessing as I will be in contact with many people while working in the school and church.

Skype and Magic-Jack have also been a huge blessing by allowing me to stay in touch with my family back in the United States!

Leaving for Ecuador!!! - Aug. 23

Thank the Lord I had two safe flights.  It was neat that I sat beside Christians on both flights!

When I was in RDU I walked by 2 guys at a shoeshine stand.  I felt like I should give them a tract that would tell them about Jesus and salvation, but I passed by into the bathroom.  After praying about what to do (because I know that I have to be careful because of the dangers of traveling) I walked back and spoke shortly with the two men.  They both were from somewhere in Africa, I think.  They were very friendly and gladly took the tracts.  I left them thanking the LORD that I had stopped to give them a tract.  I pray that they will read and understand how to be sure from the Bible that they are going to Heaven to be with Jesus, the One who created and loves them more than I ever could.  I hope this story will encourage you on your way today to take a second and stop to share Jesus somehow with those that God has placed in your pathway in life.  Praise be to Jesus, because it's because of Him and what He did for us that we have Something to share with others!

Isaiah 6:8

Life has been very busy lately, but I wanted to take a moment and write about my experiences today. I had the opportunity to share the gospel extensively with 4 mothers and 1 father today, and all I can say is “La gente necesita a Dios”. (People need the Lord)

This trip has increased my faith and is destroying my tendency to doubt. I love being able to see God work in the lives of people, and not just treat His Word like a textbook containing hypothetical situations. People have so many spiritual questions, and the Bible has the answer; we just have to get His Word to them. There are people here who cannot read and are older than me. How can they read God’s Word? They can’t! How will they hear except a preacher be sent, Romans 10:14-15?

I know that I am nothing on my own, but “woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel of Christ”! I have a ministry that is tiring mentally and emotionally, but I wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world. What God has for me in the future I don’t know right now, but I know where He has placed me today; and I pray that I will be faithful to Him by proclaiming the gospel and completing the task which He has given to me today.

What is the will of God?

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men…. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

- 1 Timothy 2:1, 3-4
